I speak about .Net as a programming language (I truly it isn't ) because my only contact with .Net was through miscellaneous programming languages which (like Delphi) 'turned' to .Net. > > OLE, COM and ActiveX are still there today and heavily used and will for > sure be use for years. > Dotnet will /not/ fade away anytime soon, IMO. > Yes. This is also true. They are not extinct. But they are not also so heavy used as Microsoft said they will be. ------- What I wanted to say, is that everybody switched to that .Net stuff (sorry, I making the mistake again: those .Net oriented programming languages). But I think not because they really need it but because it is new and shiny. My question is: should I (we) start making programs in .Net (oriented programming languages)? It is suitable for a usual application (like a text editor, system utility, game, multimedia tool...). It is better or we just turn back to Java and Basic? > -- > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Author of ICS (Internet Component Suite, freeware) > Author of MidWare (Multi-tier framework, freeware) > http://www.overbyte.be > > _______________________________________________ > Delphi mailing list -> [email protected] > http://www.elists.org/mailman/listinfo/delphi > > _______________________________________________ Delphi mailing list -> [email protected] http://www.elists.org/mailman/listinfo/delphi
