I cursed my Delphi 7 for more than 6 months because it was crashing on me without any obvious reasons, many many times per day. Then, I have found out there in the wild (wild=Internet) that Delphi may crash in special conditions if some windows are docked (especially some debug windows). I deleted all desktop files and I un-docked all windows, and since then I am again a happy programmer. Now, I don't have more than one or two crashes per month. When in doubt, delete all files generated by Delphi. Plugins and IDE enhancements may cause lots of troubles also. In the last few months I worked without any plugin at all.
