Tom, try: Image.Canvas.Font.Style := Image.Canvas.Font.Style + [fsBold] ; and: Image.Canvas.Font.Style := Image.Canvas.Font.Style - [fsBold] ; FontStyle is a set, to which members can be added or removed.
