I ran into a bit of performance issue using Excel with OLE. I was importing
some fairly large Excel documents and I was reading the content one cell at a
time. This is very slow because it requires lots of round-trips to Excel. I
changed it to read a lot more data at a time and the performance problems went
away.

Subiect: Excel DDE / OLE

I have been using DDE for importing/exporting data
from and to excel for years without any problems.
Since my clients started using office 2007, things
started making trouble and I moved on to using
OLE with success.
I remember having read multiple comments over
the years saying OLE was slow and so on,
but uptill now i can't complain ...
Anyone have similar experiences or comments ?
