On a different but related note I suspect this release of Delphi Win32 could be quite a money spinner to them. Significant new VCL32 language features are the sort of thing which MAKE me want to update... and considering we're still running Delphi 5 that is saying something!
However having said that I suspect there is huge potential to stuff this release up. Not so much generics (although they could) but the move to double byte strings sounds like it could break all sorts of things to me. So, much as we are hanging out for this release, I'm also really hoping they spend the time to iron out all (or almost all!) of the little glitches before they release it. We're planning on buying and moving our apps to it pretty much as soon as it comes out which is very risky I know (usually safer to wait until first patch is out). So, please, don't disappoint us Codegear! Cheers, David. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jeremy North Sent: Friday, 1 February 2008 4:48 p.m. To: NZ Borland Developers Group - Delphi List Subject: Re: [DUG] Tiburon News On Feb 1, 2008 12:29 PM, Sean Cross <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Field testing hasn't started yet, and is at least a month away.
