Sometimes when the install a component fails it will ask you if you want
to install it again next time. If you way no it sores a registry entry
away saying don't load package "xyz". Even if you re-install the
package, it won't load next time. I just looked and I couldn't find the
registry key that I was after, but if you search "HKCU\Software\Borland"
for the package name and delete it from where it shouldn't be. I think
the only place it needs to be is "Known Packages".

Subject: [DUG] component didnt stay when IDE shuts down

 


Hi,

 

I am using an custom made delphi component in Delphi 5. But the thing is
everytime i close the delphi 5 ide. It goes aways. I mean to say i have
to reinstall it everytime i i start delphi IDE. I tried to save the
component. But for some reason it dont stay there when IDE goes down.

 

i tired this with another machine but it worked. I even reinstalled the
delphi 5 thinking may be issue in my machine But unfortunatly dint seems
to help. Any help or suggestion on this would be highly aprecaited.
