I have three books on my reading list that I have picked up and put down many times over the past year or so. They are directly related to Delphi or but are worth reading from a general point of view of becoming a better programmer.
Here are my three books: The Art of Unit Testing by Roy Osherove. The book uses examples in C# and .Net but this is a great book about how to write *good* unit tests and some of the pitfalls to avoid. This is not so much about the mechanics of writing unit tests but more about the best practices involved in creating unit tests. The Clean Coder by Robert C. Martin. It's the follow up book to Clean Code also by "Uncle Bob". In this book he talks about the ideals of being a "software craftsman". All about the technique, tools and practices to make us better programmers. Continuous Delivery by David Farley and Jez Humble. Great book on automating the whole software build process all the way to delivering the final product. The idea is not so much that you have to always deliver the final product in this agile method but the fact that you can.
