Exactly, and this is what makes a mockery of drawing conclusions about the "death of Win32" from the fact that Microsoft have chosen to bundle a tablet/phone GUI framework and launcher environment in their operating system.
If I had to put it in a pithy one line summary, my current understanding is essentially that: - Metro is to Windows as Android is to Java as iOS is to OSX.
