I agree with Joylon's comments in other forums.
Some guesses based on previous EMB history: it will be 12 months until
we see an Android version (XE5). Which will prove to be very raw. When
a usable version comes out in XE6, XE5 Android support will then be
claimed to be a "technology preview". You can also expect that some
excuse will be found for you to need to pay extra all the way along the
treadmill.
Like Joylon, I fell for the marketing material that came out with XE2,
expecting that for the upgrade price I would receive (within 6 months or
so) a product that would provide support for Win32/Win64/IOS/Android.
"Bait and Switch" by any other name.
I've been a supporter of Delphi for a long time, and have bought many
upgrades over the years. All the recent upgrades I've purchased have
_never_ used for other than minor experimental code, whilst their newer
licensing mechanisms remain a pain in the rear.
I certainly won't be holding my breath and watching 1000's of other
developers grabbing market share whilst waiting, and waiting for EMB to
actually ship the product they promised as XE2.

Why not program in Java which is free offered by Google? It is fun
to program in a different language other than Delphi.
If you want the speed, you can program in C#. I am writing code in
C for android which is free too using ndk-build. :-)
