I realize that and rely on that but it’s not working.  Although the coloured 
background is being replaced with a white background when it’s displayed, so 
some transparency is happening somewhere.

Hi Ross

There is another factor that determines transparency of a glyph on a 
speedbutton and other places.

The colour of the bottom left hand corner pixel is taken as the transparency 
colour. ie the pixels omitted from the glyph to make it transparent.
