Thanks Paul
That works great, Owner and Parent were already set
to the component anyway. I had always thought that the name had to be
unique within a form. You learn something new every day.
Thanks

Set the Owner and Parent to be the Component -
Control-Names must be Unique within the Owner-Control.

Subject: [DUG] Components
Hi
I have a component that creates some buttons in
its constructor. I need to name these buttons but as there will be
multiple copies of my component on a form the names need to be unique.
I had thought to use the name of the component (which will be unique) and
then a hard coded name i.e.
addbutton.name := self.name +
'AddButton'; //Self is the component
Self.Name seems to be blank (although I know th
component is named). Any suggestions?
