As an aside, I've just been reading the February edition of The Delphi Magazine.

There's an article in there talking about "extensive fresh Borland layoffs", which also talks about the following individuals departing:
  • Simon Thornhill, manager/VP of the RAD/.NET unit
  • Chuck Jazdzewski, Chief Scientist & Delphi Chief Architect (rumoured to now be surfing a desk somewhere in Redmond).
Anybody else any thoughts?

Cheers,

C.

The question that affects a few of us out there is does Borland intend to develop a native win64 compiler or is dot net  Borland's only option for win64 development.
My current view is unless there's pressure to do so it will only be dot net.
 We do recognize that

Win32 support continues to be important for many Delphi developers,

particularly for maintaining existing applications but also for new

application development. As such we also plan to continue supporting and

developing new Delphi Win32 features for the foreseeable future.
