and to complete the example then, now that the mediaplayer is not blocking due to
the .wait, its easy enough to add a ttimer event to update timeremaining or whatever
to a label or caption or something..

in fact, for simplicity, i might even be inclined to put the 'has the clip finished
playing yet' check into the timer event too.. it doesnt sound like the original
question asker is doing anything too time sensitive.. and its ok to run the check
more than a couple of times a second..
