Hi Kuet-Fung We do a nightly backup on tape and lodge with the local bank. For normal use a weekly backup will be adequate and the cost of a CD is minimal. We also have copies of all software installation discs there too.
The cost of losing code and supporting software is too high not to. It also doubles as our escrow. Starting to get a bit off topic here ... what backup strategy do people generally use, especially for people working from home? Do people seriously use off-site backup? I've 2 PC's at home, with 2 HD each. I backup codes from one disk to the other, as well as copy onto the other PC. If one disk is dead, I can recover from the other. If one PC is totally gone (thus both disks), I should be OK to recover from the other PC. BUT, if a fire break out, severe earthquake, power surge strike both PC at the same time, etc ... I'll be ruined! CD or zip disk backup on-site will not help either. Are there local (NZ) off-site backup services?
