Hi Stacey, Thanks for the tip.
Do you mean Project Options/Compiler Messages/Warnings/Platform Symbol checkbox settings? If so, I got that for Delphi 7. I really want to switch the warning off for third party code including Borland Source code, but not my own code. Probably something similar for other Delphi versions as well. Note: All people who use the project must have the tool or the options will be reset!!! http://codecentral.borland.com/codecentral/ccweb.exe/listing?id=17654 Stacey > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Leigh Wanstead > Sent: Tuesday, 1 June 2004 9:20 > To: NZ Borland Developers Group - Delphi List > Subject: RE: [DUG] Weird Delphi Warning > > > Hi Conor, > > I agree with you. > > But I got 27 warnings and 3 hints most in classes.pas, > ComCtrls.pas, StdCtrls.pas, DateUtils.pas, ComObj.pas and > FlashFiler and JCL package. > > I don't like it and I can't do anything about it. > > Regards > Leigh > http://www.salenz.com > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Tuesday, June 01, 2004 8:53 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: RE: [DUG] Weird Delphi Warning > > > If you don't do it already, you can use {$HINTS ON|OFF} or {$WARNINGS > ON|OFF} in your code to explicitly prevent a particular code warning > from appearing in the list. > > I'm just much happier seeing a message saying 0 Hints, 0 > Warnings, rather than always expecting to see a list of > warnings even if I ignore them. > > If the list remains, it's too easy to miss a new warning that > could be more significant, IMHO. > > I'll stick my neck out further and say I still believe it is > possible to code so that no warnings/hints are raised, even > if it doesn't look like the most obvious way to write it.
