My take on it:
Delphi for .Net is that is on its way out - Borland
is moving its focus away from Delphi - there is still money to be made
... so D9 and I suspect there may even one after that, but just tedding
water with it - no significant advances/improvements...
Just my opinion...

Subject: [DUG] Delphi .Net vs Visual
Studio .Net and Midas vs .Net remoting
Hi all, hope this hasnt been
discussed recently. Just wondering what people think of the future of
Delphi .Net? Is
Delphi 8
attracting developers and projects, or is Visual Studio .Net slowly pulling
everyone away? Is Delphi 8 a
viable alternative when going .Net, or will it go the way of Kylix? I
understand there were considerable bugs when Delphi 8 was
first released. Is it now stable? What do those USING Delphi .Net
think of it? Are there those who have dabbled in Delphi .Net and
Visual Studio .Net (C#)? How do they compare? (was one far superior or was it
just a matter of taste?)
One more question for those
whove used Midas / Datasnap extensively is .Net remoting superior (if
youve used that too)?
Cheers,
Dave
