I think this
is in addition. The products they enquired to accomplish this, they also
enquired the staff to keep developing them. Needless to say there are now
Russian and Swiss development centres.

Well they
don't actually have to write a compiler for either of these languages (java,
c#). Just maintain an IDE.
C# is even
easier because it works in the new IDE so just some C# specific IDE additions
are required.
Also the
PrimeTime IDE is used for CBuilderX (which appears to have been a
flop).

Not sure about this one as I am a fan of FireBird. Not sure
how much in resources IB takes up.

I am mildly curious to see there take on native 64bit
support though. Danny rightly says that it's available now via Dot Net but
that doesn't mean it should be the only way to go Dot Net in my
opinion.
