Just a thought to make things easier in the future:

Use TweakUI (free from Microsoft) to shift the actually useful things
out of the "Documents & Settings" to somewhere else, preferably on
another partition.

As a start, you could move:

   My Documents
   Desktop
   Favorites

You can also shift "My Pictures", "My Music", "My Videos" ...

Having these files off the Windows partition is a safer, it makes
backing up easier, and makes reinstalling/recovering much simpler.

It's a bit of a pain with multiple users - you have to log in with admin
rights to each but doesn't take long, and recovering or reinstalling is
SO much simpler.

Both TweakUI v1.33 (for Win2000 and earlier) and TweakUI-XP let you move
special folders. In TweakUI XP, they're somewhat hidden - being called
"Special Folders" under the "My Computer" tab - it's a drop-down list.

If you use Outlook, you can also shift the Outlook.PST file (when
Outlook isn't running). Then when it starts, it'll complain that it
can't find "Outlook.pst" and offer you a "Browse for" box. This will let
you point at the file's new location - it'll remember after this.

I believe (anecdotally) that the latest version of Outlook lets you
shift the main .pst file but this technique works with Outlook 2000/2002
as well.

Now if only we could turn the registry into a pile of ".cfg" files :-)

Cheers
Giovanni
