If you have all the source required to re-compile from, then deleting
the dcus is not harmful. It is what I would do. Sometimes it is easier
to just go "right, now you'll be compiled with the right version you
little..." and delete all the dcus involved, then start compiling from
the bottom.

But you will need the source code to do this. I have only experienced
this problem when I am in a position to re-compile everything from
source.

The dcus and pas files might be on your compile path (or whatever it's
called in the IDE) somewhere, they do not have to be directly in the
directory that your application is. I would search my whole computer
with windows file search to make sure that I had found them all. If your
Delphi is also looking at network drives for it's library paths, then I
would also search the network drives.

If quick reports came with Delphi then it is probably somewhere in the
Delphi distribution.

I cant find the qrtee.dcu unit anywhere on my system, but I know it has
to be here somewhere. I believe it is the charting component from
teechart that integrates with quick reports.

I can only see one dcu associated with the application itself as I
personally havent compiled the solution.

Is it safe to delete *.dcu from the directory and have them re-build
when I try and compile the application?

In fact I cant find the corresponding .pas file either.

I searched google and it said to download an updated teechart install,
but I have a later version than the one they say to download...now Im
confused.

Yes. Re-compile/re-build whatever package it is a part of. Replacing the
dcus will fix it.

Hi all.

Another compatibility issue...:(

I am changing some code developed for us in 1999 by an external
developer. They created a application in delphi 2 (I think) and in the
app they create a report using quick reports (the software was
develoiped in Delphi2 I think)

I am modifying the program in D5 and when I compile the app now I get an
error "Unit QrTee was compiled with a different version of
QuickRpt.TQRPrintable"

How can I fix this error? is it just a matter of deleting the .du file
and regnerating or is it something more arduous?

Cheers
