You would be amazed at the number of people who have complained over the years about Delphi Help. Once you get to know the help, yes, it's pretty good, but a lot of people are completely stumped the first time they try and use the Delphi Help. I've found it very useful ONCE you spend half an hour in the Borland Help editor tool (whatever it's called) getting the correct set of help files, help indexes, and help contents files listed, and then recompiling the help. But it took me a long time to get that to work, and I dare say a lot of people didn't bother. Cheers, C. P.S. Disclaimer: Not sure if D8/9 etc is any different, as I haven't got to play with those toys yet. :-| -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Wilkin, Kurt on Tuesday, 22 February 2005 4:04 p.m. [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > But even you must admit that Help in Delphi right back the 10 years > now to Delphi 1 has never been it's strong point, Richard. ;-) > For real? I've always thought of it as outstanding - as far as Delphi was concerned. I do remember always having trouble finding the right help file to search for windows stuff (is that win32 or win32s or...) Use msdn a lot nowadays, and for some keywords finding the right docs is almost impossible. (No, I don't want the FoxPro "in" or the sqlServer "in" or the JScript "in", I'm _trying_ to find the vb test for set membership). _______________________________________________ Delphi mailing list [email protected] http://ns3.123.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/delphi _______________________________________________ Delphi mailing list [email protected] http://ns3.123.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/delphi
