Hi
Could it be delphi direct? This polls a borland database over the internet
occasionally for new 'news' from borland. Usually just after the ide is
started.
Try turning it off in tools/enviroment options/delphi direct.

Subject: RE: [DUG] Menu Problems in D7

Rohit,

This may be different, but I have a problem with D7 that's been happening
for the last couple of months at least.

When I start D7 it sometimes appears to lock up. Usually just after the ide
loads, but sometimes a few minutes later when I try to log into freevcs.
When it does lock up, I can't run any other internet application: email,
ftp, browser etc. Killing the processes is very difficult, and I have
resorted to rebooting a few times. Lately I find if I leave it for 10 or 20
minutes (and go and have breakfast) it all comes back online fine. I thought
maybe something to do with ZoneAlarm firewall but there's nothing in the
logs.

It doesn't do it all the time, just occasionally. It never does it with d5
which I also use regularly.

Maybe D7 doesn't like it when I start work on an empty stomach.

Regards,
Steve
