My "views" are based on Firebird, however I beleive that they apply to Interbase as well.
Beware of Views, they are banned from our apps. As long as you use a view on its own, its not too bad. Even then you can not control what index it uses, the engine does what it wants. In fact it often tells you something in the prepare phase which it does not do in the execute phase. If you join a view with a table then all hell breaks loose. All tables involved are liable to be read in full. This is a big nono.
