Bloody stupid MS...
It works if I use the IP address of the remote host but not if I use the
machine name.

Another thing to look at is to trace stack information like Java. JEDI
JCL/JVCL has a nice stack trace unit for Delphi to trace exception and I use
it daily.

I only found this error in one place on the web which implied that it
was a an access right issue. The only thing is that the app does
nothing special at this point. Similar code elsewhere in it works.

Whats the nature of the problem?, We have had odd error on TS where a
program will work on the console but fails on a remote client (This is
possibly due to some subtle differences in the display interface between
the console and the RDP server). Mostly 'lockups' tend to be hidden
modal dialog boxes coming up under another form, these is a good
arguement there for making dialogs self destruct
