Data is entered on a web page in a texta rea - being a good journalist the guy entering uses the correct punctuation - wierd stuff I'd never use, but for him is important.
I store the data exactly as is in a database. Another guy accesses that data via a webservice I've provided - and he uses ASP for the consumption of that data - and we get lots of funny stuff acordingly.
So I want a standard procedure (if there is one) that converts all the unusual punctuation characters and European bits and bobs to the escaped sequences such as $amp; etc.
