Title: Message
Up to now I have been using D5, but itching to go to a later version.  Partly for some newer features (printing/TClientDataSet).

Mainly for more control over forms appearance - the main things I would like are:

-Control over colour of form title bar caption
-finer colour and font control
-XP like Page control  with the gold tab hot-tracking
-buttons with flat border option, and hot-tracking buttons, rounded buttons
-transparent forms (Alpha blend) - for a tiny utility window open on the screen much of the time this not only looks great, its useful.

Examples of the undestated refined look are like in Yahoo Messenger, where almost everything is in either white. light grey or pale blue (Form title bar).  I notice on BDN that such appearances are common in D2005/2006 IDE as well.

I do have Virtual Tree View and XP Themes loaded - I don't know how completely this gives any these goodies compared to later Delphi versions

Question - could you recommend the best upgrade version to get these XP like effects, and any links on issues involved (I assume in most cases Win98 etc just ignore some of the XP type windows effects and require no separate programming).  I know that almost all of these can be got individually with add-on components, or descending from existing (and I have done colour hot-tracking buttons myself to show it can be done), but I really want the lot, so more logical to  go to a later version.

Subject: [DUG] D2005 Cut Paste Components

Here is one that I thought I had read had been a problem.

I've got Update 3 onboard, so it prob. not that.

But I can not Cut any components on a form.

Any one encountered/solved this?

Paul
