John, Apart from the search path, when upgrading Indy from the D7-supplied version you need to make sure you completely remove the old components first, including left-over files. Here's some notes I made last time I did this:
C:\Program Files\Borland\Delphi7\Bin\dclindy70.* C:\Program Files\Borland\Delphi7\Lib\dclindy.* C:\Program Files\Borland\Delphi7\Lib\indy*.* C:\Program Files\Borland\Delphi7\Source\indy\*.* C:\Program Files\Borland\Delphi7\Source\internet\indy*.* Plus some bpl's in the \windows\system32 folder Plus read the install instructions carefully - as with most Delphi components, the order in which you compile and possibly install the various run-time and design-time components is important.
