I'm afraid that wasn't it. I checked the Helpintfs.pas file in the
Delphi source directory and it had already included the suggested lines
in the second article. So I guess that particular bug has been fixed.
Which doesn't help explain why the memory leak report.

Yes, they are known bugs in the VCL.
