Unfortunately we can not add .hlp or .chm (as far as I know) directly to the D2005 and probably D2006 help systems, hence some of us use the tools option.
Which is annoying esp when someone has gone to the trouble of linking their component(s) to a help file for other developers.
Developing help under the new help system can have numerous issues I've decided to steer clear of it for now. .
May be DevCo will fix this for us ? So that we can relink our component and other help files bak in across all the help systems ?
Seems sensible. Uhm . . does that matter ?
After these lean Delphi IDE years, its going to become a mantra,
I can see it know - sort of like a developers Cargo Cult . .
DevCo will make it right again . . . .
DevCo will fix it . . . .
DevCo will make it better . . . .
The actual realisation of anything won't matter, we'll just keep chanting it . . .
DevCo will make it right again . . . .
DevCo will fix it . . . .
DevCo will make it better . . . .

In Delphi 5 (and up to Delphi 7 AFAIK), you can use the Help, Customize... menu option to actually compile/link it into your Delphi Help. You'll need to know the location of the .hlp file that you want to compile in, which you do, so I would suggest that's preferable to having it on the Tools menu. Not sure how to do it in D2006, but if, as an example, I search for ShellExecute in D2006, it's already there anyway on my installation. Not sure if I did anything unusual to get it to display there.HTH,Conor
Aha now I know where the help file is, this is another way to add it to the Tools Menu:In the Tools Menu, Configure Tools and Add,Title: Delphi5 Win32SDKProgram: WINHLP32Working Dir: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Borland Shared\MSHelpParameter: WIN32.HLP
