We have been using a mix of the GDI and the GDI+ libraries for a while now and unhappy with both of them - the GDI routines are too limited (eg, lines more than 1px wide loose their style such as psDash) and the GDI+ routines are too slow. I've been playing with a couple of alternatives but haven't found anything that is fast and feature rich - the best one so far is the open source Graphics32 routines but for us it has serious gaps in its functionality and has a very slow polygon filling routine.

If I can't find a decent replacement I'm thinking we may have to switch over to something like DirectDraw.

We draw maps, so it has to be fast, support thick lines with line styles, preferably support anti-aliasing and opacity, and would be nice if it has texture fills for polygons. We are pushed for time and need something we can plug in with minimum of fuss.

Any suggestions? What do you use?
