Hi Gary,
With my billing application which pulls appointment data
from Outlook, I haven't noticed any delay and I use
Exchange.
I also use the OfficePartner components from Turbopower
which are now open source.
I've got code here if it is any help.

Subject: [DUG] Outlook AutomationIn accessing Outlook for data using OLE automation (as a result of a drag and drop event) I access data directly from Outlook (2003, 2000).
In standalone version of Outlook all is OK, but when it is connected to an Exchange server the operation goes away for 10-20 seconds before returning data.
Any have a work around?
