Hi Rohit,

Sorry - I didn't mean to appear to pick on you or indicate any fault in
your software. I was just wondering if it was still a common place
extension used by people (I use an older version of IBExpert for
example). I know IBVIEW supports any file as I used it to open my .ib
files. It was just the "browse for your database files" that I remember.

Subject: RE: [DUG] who still uses .gdb files?

Richard,

I knew about the slowness of the gdb extension on the XP, but did not
know the cause.

All my apps support whatever extension you want. None of our users have
the databas eon the XP, so its never been an issue for them. I had a
quick look at IBVIEW, but I cant spot it except for the browse button
for Registering a Database. I can remove gdb but then there is no
default extension. Maybe I can use gdb, fdb and idb. Where else does
it default to gdb ?
