My understanding is that the Delphi 7 disk included in the Delphi 8 pack is
the full Enterprise version. Chuck the Delphi 8 disks and just use the
Delphi 7 disks for Win 32 development. Delphi 7 is a good product.
If you really need dotNet capability in your applications then use Delphi
2006.

Subject: [DUG] Delphi 7 Enterprise, studio or not and Delphi 8
Date: Tue, 22 Aug 2006 09:47:01 +1200
Hi there :-)
I have Delphi 7 Enterprise on my personal computer - my new employer is
going to buy me Delphi 7 Enterprise but he has found Delphi 7 Studio
Enterprise.
Is there (if any) difference between these two? I can't seem to find any in
my searches....
Also I see there is a Delphi 8 which says
Includes
- Delphi 8 for the Microsoft .NET Framework
- Delphi 7 Enterprise
etc etc
so.... does that mean that version 8 comes with a version 7 just as if I
went out and brought Delphi 7 Enterprise? or does it just use the Delphi 7
Enterprise 'engine' along with all the base vcl components that come with 7
enterprise. I have heard bad stories about 8 and would rather keep to 7.
Thanks Guys :-)
Nick
