Yes look at the options properties, of which there are lots. Ones to look at are: If you turn goEditing off the current cell corsor changes to an outline, or goRowSelect or if you want full control then set defaultdrawing off and draw the cell yourself, then you can get it to do exactly as you wish - I've done lots of all the above so email if you want more info...
