What does your interbase log say is happening? How isolated are your database update mechanisms or at least your getting of the connection? I would presume this is a headless app (pretty much) and so you aren't using many data aware controls? Richard

We leave them running overnight and generally no issues. Occasionally there is a loss of connection to the database resulting in the applications going into io error. We are using Delphi 2005, and BDE connections to Interbase 7.5.1 via the network. OPC doesn't present us with a problem as the OPC server resides on the same machine. We wish to revamp these applications so that in the event of a temporary loss of connection to the database it will catch this and recover rather than getting an IO issue. Any thoughts as to where we might start in order to make the process more robust?
