Are you using UNC paths ?

As I thought. The only other time I have come across this is with
IBManager which actually wants you to point it to Admin.ib.
The issue I am having here is some parameter that Delphi is picking up
is directing it to look for a local copy on C:\Program
Files\Borland\Interbase
It is this parameter that I need to change to point it to the server. I
am just not sure where to find the parameter.

The Admin.ib location (unless connecting directly) is controlled by the
IB Server itself.

Delphi 2005 Win32 using a TSQLConnection. There is nothing in its
parameters for this setting. I believe it is server security database.

Is this Win32 .Net ?
What Deplhi version ?
We are D7 Win32 and use a TDatabase component which contains the
connection info...

Making a connection through dbExpress to an Interbase database on the
network.
I get an error "Database Server Error: no permission for read-write
access to database C:\Program Files\Borland\Interbase/admin.ib"
That's not a problem. We don't keep the admin.ib on the local drive
but
where needed, point to the copy on the database server.
My problem is I don't know where Delphi is picking this parameter up
from so I can't edit it.
Have done a search of all my .ini files on the local hard drive and
have
done a complete search of the registry. Other programs we use like SQL
Manager keep this string in the registry but I am at a loss as to
where
Delphi stores it.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
