Hmm, riffing on that... a "diamond" of two triangles: the top, with the "thicker" line (often seen on the delta letter) on the right, with "delta" along the bottom edge; the bottom, with "thicker" line along the left (representing the metallic sheen on a spike), with "spike" along the top edge.
