Thanks much for the response. Your instructions were great. I was able to create those packages ... only to find out that there were other dependency issues that I ran into on Intrepid (lib-torrent not being up to date was one of several).
I decided to throw in the towel and just upgrade to the new ubuntu (Jaunty). I appreciate the help very much though.
