I just ran into bug #2094 and was stumped by it for a while because no
errors were ever displayed. Other times other permission and file not
found errors happen. These never get displayed to the UI and are only in
the log file and often not verbose enough.
I believe the gtk-ui (and web-ui) need ways to notify users of such
errors. It should also store them for later viewing since user may not be
connected as the event happens.
