My guess is you have the wrong paper size: Denemo defaults to A4, you may need US letter size. This > > (2) tuplets are (still) a pain in the rump. Why isn't there a "delete tuplet" > command, in the tuplet commands menu? It sounds like your keyboard shortcuts are in some strange way, if you look up the command in the menu system the shortcut(s) should appear in blue next to the label. The Delete commands are in the Edit menu. > I can only cursor all the way to the end and > backspace to obliterate EVERYTHING (not just tuplet markings). obviously, this isn't right. It sounds like the same problem as above, strange shortcuts. To test this out, remove or hide your .denemo-0.9.7 directory (folder) from your home directory. It should start with the default shortcuts then. > The cursor seems to > be assigned to and stuck to an existing note; note-typing alters the existing > note, but doesn't insert a new one. Note names are default shortcut for edit/append, Shift-Note Names are default shortcut for insert (IIRC). For note-durations it is the reverse, 0, 1, 2 is insert a duration, Shift-0, 1, 2 are for edit/append. > > (4) I can's manage measure divisions. Denemo went modeless years ago - modal programs are confusing for most people. I am not sure what you are referring to here - I believe the old modes *do* still exist but I haven't heard of anyone using them for years - it could be the explanation of all your woes if they are turned on. > Like, one of the > most powerful denemo features. Shouldn't it be a > straight-forward, in-your-face menu option? When modes were in use there was/is a whole menu for switching mode and it used to alter the other menus to suit the mode. This is ancient stuff though and I doubt you are talking about that - what do you mean by "mode"??? > I can't figure out how, and I'm not > exactly a new comer. > > Thanks. Excuse the rant.
