If you remove your denemorc, what is the default path to lilypond. Is this
lilypond now found by denemo. Is it executable at the command

sound issues on that platform anyway. It runs fine in Ubuntu 12.04. I
compiled it in 12.04. I will recompile it all again in 10.04 and see if
that works for you and test to see if it works in 12.04. This may need some
massaging to get portaudio to behave correctly. Maybe it compiled against
my system installed portaudio. If so that would explain why it works in
12.04. IIRC I compiled it 10.04 and it tried to load the system installed
portaudio modules instead of the ones that gets packaged with the gub
binary.

in 12.04 and I tested it in 10.04. In 10.04 I had to change portaudio to
none in denemorc because something has an exclusive lock on the sound card
causing portaudio to not load and denemo to crash. If audiobackend is set
to none then it loads fine. Maybe the lack of portaudio suport caused the
binary to crash on your system before.
