Denemo.
about the book--I've heard of that title before. I use Gardner Read's Music
Notation--which I will peruse more carefully in this topic. In general, my
feeling as a player is that if I have less than a bar in which to execute
the crescendo or diminuendo, I want to see it as a hairpin. If I have a
longer bit of music over which to make the dynamic change, words might be
better. Hence my use of your crescendo with the dashes in most of this
movement. The dashes seemed odd to me, though. I haven't encountered them
much in published music. However, Gardner Read likes them--I'll go with it
as it seems to add a level of rigorousness to the notation.
