LilyPond's accidentals can be overridden with markup like this:
\once \override Voice.Accidental.stencil =
#ly:text-interface::print
\once \override Voice.Accidental.text =
\markup {\musicglyph #"accidentals.natural.arrowdown"}
placed before a note this will result the accidental printed on that note to
be the natural with arrow down glyph. You would need to force an accidental if
one would not otherwise be printed.
This could be the basis for providing a set of altered accidentals.
There is also LilyPond syntax e.g.
ceseh1 ces ceh c cih cis cisih
for quarter tones...
