Skip syllables in selection is useful if you want to miss out many
syllables (e.g. for a musical introduction) And if you miscount the
syllables it is easy to change the number by changing the text that
appears in the lyrics pane.
Otherwise the lyrics just link to the notes. I use a - when a note needs
skipping and mu- sic (for example) for multi-syllable words
"Multiple words per note" can be surrounded by quotes yto get them
quoted as one.

Hi,
I am composing parts where some notes should not have lyrics. Is there a
way I can attach a lyric to a particular note?
yes, I'll leave it to the lyrics experts to suggest the various methods,
and just mention the "Skip Syllables in Selection" command in the Lyrics
menu. Not sure which Denemo version that came in with (see
http://www.denemo.org/roadmap/ for a list of features arrival dates) but
the basic stuff ( -- and __ and so on) has been there for a long time.
