Follow-up Comment #1:
A voice in this context is a staff which will typeset on the staff above. To
delete it you just use Staffs/Voices->Delete Current Staff as with any other
sort of staff (e.g. Dynamics Line, Tab, Chord Symbols ...)
perhaps that could be made clearer?
