Hi Richard,

Yes I can get it how I like (wasn't too fussed about the boxing actually - Dom raised that as an issue).

If I use Score Typesetter to select Boxed Rehearsal marks then Lilypond puts in a boxed I between H and J

If I start off with unboxed rehearsal marks Lilypond omits the I and goes straight from H to J.

To put the I in I can

 * delete the F9 rehearsal mark and put in an I manually using Shift-F9, or
 * use Score Typesetter Rehearsal marks to make them boxed AND THEN
repeat the command asking for unboxed
(I assume I have concatenated "BOX & Use I" and "UNBOX".)

I am not sure it is what you expect, but that is what happens.

Joe

Lilypond seems to concede that you CAN have an I if you must!

Hmm, the boxed rehearsal mark style *does* include I, it's documented
here:

documented at
http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.18/Documentation/notation/bars#rehearsal-marks

So choosing boxed alphabetic does generate I and, in fact, it's not
clear how you create boxed rehearsal marks skipping the I, this being, I
think a bug in the LilyPond documentation

Richard

The I can be added as a Text item, but not as a boxed Text item.

The manual suggests that something like

\markup\box
"I"

might work, but this causes a Typesetting error.

Joe

PS This isn't REALLY important if I haven't misunderstood, and it
requires modifications; I can lend people a biro to box their "I"'s.
