yes, there will also be a global setting for all the lyrics, I think, though probably not a ready-made command in Denemo for inserting that (look under Score). You can control individual words with overrides like this one I guess. Curiously, I've noticed a thread currently on lilypond-u...@gnu.org about lyric font size - you could look in the archive for this month...
