That's the expected behavior - the typesetter reports the error, but manages to create a score (by ignoring the slur IIRC). My question to whoever filed the bug report (they won't be reading this mailing list, likely) was to find out if there was a problem with the Playback View, or if it was just that they had created a score that would not typeset.
