Quite by chance I came across this email from a year ago which appeared never to have been replied to (sorry!). And as it happens, Jazz swing playback has just been requested and implemented https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/denemo-devel/2020-01/msg00018.html (see latest builds e.g. http://www.denemo.org/~jjbenham/mxe/denemo.zip ) and discussion on the mailing list.
