I'll assume you refer to the zip file on the dememo.org website,
http://denemo.org/~rshann/denemo-2.6.0.zip
and that you have extracted all the files to a specific folder and then double
clicked Denemo.bat
That is a short batch file which installs the relevant fonts. If you open
Denemo.bat with the notepad text editor you can see the names of the fonts it
has attempted to install and check that they have been installed. You could
install them yourself and try again.
A screenshot of what you see would be useful - it doesn't sound quite right
for the uninstalled fonts case - what you expect is the music glyphs to appear
as alphabetical characters not the other way round.
