Follow-up Comment #1, bug #63795 (project denemo):
The problem is that that the default is not to group whole measure rests if
they have something attached to them - things like fermata stop the grouper
because it's expected the performer will want to know. Staccato dots are
rather small so easy to miss in the display - LilyPond does actually typeset
them though so they can't really be banned... I wonder if the display should
exaggerate their size though as part of making the display more informative...
